Hey family!
I´ll start with the questions.
How is she, Rosana, doing?
She is doing great. We confirmed her yesterday and she is participating in institute. She told her aunt that she wants to go on a mission!
Your companion, Elder Viana, sounds like he is a good guy. Are you speaking a lot of English with him or Portuguese?
We speak Portuguese 99% of the time. He likes to say funny quotes in english, or at least that sound funny to me. haha
Could you get me the address of Elder Bean?? I would like to write him another letter. How are the other missionaries in the ward/stake??
Well it was a pretty good week. We have no one to teach right now. We didn't really find anybody this last week and those we were teaching fell. My companion isn't doing contacts and so that's hard for me because our numbers look bad and we have a harder time finding people to teach. But we are going to work hard this week.
The attic looks great! haha I cant believe you guys actually did it. You guys did a lot!
It has been raining a lot here. This week there was a day when it rained super hard. We had forgotten our umbrellas at lunch. We got completely 100% soaked and had to wade through the road which became a river hah. It was funny. We went home and showered and put on dry clothes.
Transfers were this week. I stayed here in Batatais. I'm glad that i stayed here. Things are good with the comp. I just need to be a little more patient haha.
I love you guys a ton. I can't believe that i have been here almost 9 months already. The time is flying.
I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that he restored the church. We watched the joseph smith movie last pday in the chapel. It was awesome. I feel the spirit every time.
We were teaching a family this last week. The mom and dad drink and smoke and the daughter has drug problems. As we taught the spirit was with us. At the end the daughter gave a really good prayer and the whole family said that they felt "lighter". They felt the spirit. Unfortunately they aren't progressing very much. We will try this week to help. We are doing all that we can.
I know that the gospel can change our lives and the lives of anybody.
Have a great week!
Elder Hawkley
